Finally, we go to Bureau Europa to toast the opening together.

During the opening, director and narrator Cecilia Thoden van Velsen shares, unannounced, with visitors stories collected from the city.

PANDA Collective, Merlijn Huntjens and Nina Willems

Title: INBURG

PANDA is a multidisciplinary artist collective of Merlijn Huntjens (poet) and Nina Willems (theatre maker). PANDA makes work that responds to current events in a playful and sometimes absurd way.

During the festival opening, PANDA performs The Inburg Model, in response to Leonie Cornips’s lecture about second-generation immigrants who speak Limburg dialect. They wondered how many types of Limburgers can be defined and what factors inform the ‘ideal’ Limburg identity. INBURG is the Limburg of the heart; the Limburg someone carries in the depths of their being.
